They were hooby-joobing in da studio, she suddenly sat on the MC808, the pattern began to play and the micros were not off, and you can now hear the result
The vocals were done by Duke Bakewell.Elf wrote:AFAIK, this is only true on the re-recorded version he did in 1990. On the orginal version from 1988, Xavier Bellenger is credited for providing the chant sample.GeeJee wrote:That was actually recorded for the occasion. The singer is credited.Elf wrote:An example where Jarre took samples from another recording and did something creative with it, is the original Arab chant on Revolutions.
Elf wrote:I also feel that I've mabye been a bit hipocritical here. After all, some of my favorite albums are made by artists that base a lot of their work of samples around songs by other artists. Take the first Enigma-album for example. The single Sadeness consists of a drum beat from "Keep on Moving" by Soul II Soul, gregorian chants taken from another album and on top of this Michael Cretu throws on a few sound effects and a flute. And it works!
I think sampling is ok as long as you 1) aknowledge that you've sampled and credit the original artist and 2) put it in to completely different context and do something creative with it.
I think it's my second point there Jarre didn't succeed this time around, even if I enjoy listening to T&T while working.
An example where Jarre took samples from another recording and did something creative with it, is the original Arab chant on Revolutions. On T & T it seems like Jarre only pressed play and noodled a bit on top. The result sounds cool, imo, but it's not very creative and I expect something better than that from Jarre, however unfair that is of me.
So, there was a sweede guy there? "tweeky" Ahlund. Sounds much like "Ã…hlund" wich is a swedish name...or danish.Equinoxe5 wrote:On the Roland site, there is a link to the page featuring the profiles of those who created the patterns for the MC-808. Jarre is not there, but Tim is (very bottom)

I think he don't care anymore. Just like when he pretends to play live right in front of fans at a showcase.Equinoxe wrote:one things for sure,You can't say Jarre, used them with the belief that no Fan of his would not buy an MC808 and not recognise the patterns.
Or get on the stage in boxer shorts?AnDrOiD wrote:I think he don't care anymore.
