May I recommend the 88 key version 8HD.

It has one of the best keyboards of any : from expensive Yamaha, Roland digital pianos upto £3k,
to new acoustic uprigts from Yamaha, Kemble August Hoffman.

Also as the 88key is bigger, there is more space inside,
thus the harddisk ... which sits near the internal psu, has more space to breathe ...
making the 88 key remain a lot cooler than the 61 key.

The 88 key is heavy : approx 27KG : the metal base is thick.

I have updated my first post on page one with more images and price guide for these synths.

I am going into town early next week to try one of these. . . . And I have a strong feeling I will be coming home with one :mrgreen: I know the 88 key is better value (extended keyboard and HD having more room to breath) but I don't have the room at home for a 88 key. So it would have to be the 61 key.

This machine reminds me sooo much of when I was a child... ooh wait.. I still am! Remember when you got all those plastic toys with lights and sound buildt into it!! It was maaagic!!! And I get this same feeling looking at it in the dark!! Love it!! :D

Just come from town. While I was there, I popped into my local music store and the owner kindly had brought down his Fusion for me to have a bash at. For the money, it's a very very nice workstation. O.K, it's not the best looking keyboard in the wolrd, but there is something so nice about this synth, it's hard to discribe.

Anyway, I have purchased one and he's delivering it tomorrow afternoon.

Right, going to explain my recent purchase to the wife. Hope she's in a good mood today :wtf:

LoL! buy her some flowers and take care of her. When she seems to be on the top, you can tell her about your purchase. If that fails just say that you bought it from the toystore for a very small amount of money :wink:

I'll say I found it, but on that very same day some £400 went missing out of our bank account, then blame the bank, followed by locking myself in the garage for a few hours.

Nice that you bought it Mr Tung.

The review in SOS has a lot of v.useful link and tips ... well worth making note of ...
particularly with loading new sounds off the net into it and disconnecting it properly from the pc
about keeping the directory and file structure intact.

The Fusion forums are very useful too ... linked on the review.


The best way to see the Fusion is a FM VA Physical Modelling SS synth that is integrated into a workststaion.
So Unlike a typical workstaion where all the (comprressed) limited set of sounds are just there,
the Fusion needs to be seen as a synth first, which means editing, crerating sounds.

There are some excellent sounds on it already, all uncompressed, many more superb sounds are downloadable.

The Hollowsun sample of classic synths ... page linked to on that review .... which he is continually updating are really worth it.

If anyone here knows of Hollowsuns synth pedigree ... Equinoxe would know ...
he is one uber Hombre when it comes to analogue and classic synths and he had a hands on role with all the classic Akai samplers
as well doing all the samples on for instance Peter Gabriel's Passion soundtrack.

Hollowsun is a cool guy, happy to help ... if you want to pm him on SOS or his Fusion forum ... he will be glad to answer.


Other soundbanks as NI Kontak3 sample set of sounds, or Tascam GVI can be downloaded into the Fusion, and loads more other formats
as the chickensystems conversion software will conver these into Fusion format
to put into the Fusions hard disk.


The Fusion is open ended ... the only one of its kind.
