I bought this one on eBay: Jean-Michel Jarre Oxygene Live 2-D Abbey Road Promo DVD and I received it today. Now that I have it, I'm not sure it's genuine, because the print on the DVD-R is 'smeared' and when playing the disc it starts with a menu like from a consumer hard disk/DVD recorder and ends with a couple of minutes of nothing. Otherwise it's just a copy if the whole performance (in 2D) which could make it suspicious too. It looks like it was just copied from a DVD player to a DVD recorder. However, this promo does appear on eBay in other packages that look genuine like the JEAN MICHEL JARRE "OXYGENE 30TH ANNIVERSARY" PROMO as the one in the top right corner. It's mentioned on jarre.ch but my DVD has a slightly different text on the top lines. And it has a technical fault which stops the player for some 15 seconds while it skips it.

Any ideas of it is genuine or fake? Did anyone else buy this one (I saw more of these from the same seller)?

Hmm, that's why I'm avoiding CD-R promos.

must be very fake, record companies hardly do DVD-R copies as promos and definitly not with DVD recorder menus...

difficlut to really tell, but there are 3 different promos available: the CD promo (with the 6 black squares on the inner CD ring) and the 2D as well as the 3D DVD version.

I'd say they're genuine, as even the eBay seller raydiophonic is selling them from time to time (he is very trusted to only sell genuine material)

I'm afraid it's a fake too, and it turns out to be defective as well. I'm returning it to the seller for a refund.

I did buy another OLIYLR 2D-3D promo DVD-R (or +R), which I believe is genuine. It's a double layer DVD, I don't think that many bootleggers would use that. Its content is identical to the 2D-3D retail version including the odd year 2036 of the files (did anyone notice that...) but the file sizes are sometimes different. So I figure it must be an pre-production version with slightly different video coding.

It also has the name and telephone number of a (the?) French production company on the edge.

Still you thoughts: is this one genuine?
