I completely agree with your logic Equinoxe. Although we can never say be sure until 100% confirmation from both JMJ and the venue, I think that at the moment a concert in the Albert Hall is about as likely as the EIC concert in Dusseldorf!
The Albert Hall is a superb venue. I've often thought that Jarre should perform there (The Symphonic JMJ would be excellent performed in there) and it now seems that Jarre has positioned himself in such a way that it is now possible. The Albert Hall is similar to the Theatre Marigny in feel and decor (except that it is massive), and is on the tourist trail as one of the most famous venues and landmarks in the UK. I was in there for a Christmas concert last week and it really is a beautiful building and the atmosphere is electric! It is a real treat for Jarre fans if this comes off.
I've checked the March schedule (
www.royalalberthall.com) and it looks to me that there are some gaps towards the end of the month. The only empty Saturday in the schedule is 29th March (Chris Rea is playing on the 28th). If I was a gambling man I'd put money on this being the date for the show - there again, if Jarre is giving multiple performances then the block of 24th to 27th is also quite likely. This is only MY SPECULATION!
I'll be going in any case and, depending on dates, I can allow a couple of you to bunk up in my home if the concert comes to fruit. My home is in Greater South London and it will take about an hour - an hour and a half to travel to and from the concert.
I can't wait! ! ! ! This is one thing I'll happily get into debt for! ! !
You could always come to the Royal Albert Hall if it goes ahead.
