About the Linn, what I like is the effect, but about the TR, I don't like the sound, sounds too thin to me, and the price is too high :?

The original TR808 and 909 also have thin sounds, hence it flopped in the 80s... put some eq and compression on it and OOMPH there ya go... :peacemaan: same for the 505...

I have some samples of among others 808 and 909, originally made for MPC-1000. They are quite good but just samples so far. Any 808 and 909 emulations are critized for not being as powerful as the originals but as Gee said there might be a way out of it. It is also worth looking for a DrumStation which emulates 808 and 909.

Regarding VNV Nation. From a topic on VSE, NI Battery was mentioned several times but also the only actual drum source I could spot in any of the gearlists that were mentioned.

Thanks for the tips.

I have samples of the TR909, and I must say I only use then while composing, compared to the TR707 and TR505 samples they are much deeper, the kicks are amazingly deep.
I'll look into Battery and the DrumStation ;)
