I hope on the next days. In fact i have to put the Chip into my CR78 and perform some tests against another midified Drummer, to find out if there any delay occurs while playing. And at least a test of minimum 2-3 hours.

Doesn´t look good at the moment. I have some problems with the ports and additionally there are several problems, specially on the CR78: The internal Amplifier seems only to work when the machine is in "Play"-mode (ok, this is no big problem, i have simply to push both "cancel"-buttons on the presets) and three instruments are not able to trigger: Tambourine, metallic hihat, guiro, because they work "free" without presets.

I don´t think that this also happens on the Minipops...but in first order i have to take a look why the output ports won´t work anymore.

Looks better:

I had to admire that some instruments still don´t work, at least the Snare, the most important after the BD. So seen 7 of 13 instruments work currently.

Ok, the Snare works also. Fact is, that it couldn´t be done with the Chip alone and some 1N4148 because the Chip itself isn´t "strong enough" on its outputs to open/close the Transistors inside of the CR78. In fact it must be a construction of -several- 1N4148, PNPs and some capacitors.

I´ll take a look. Was i´ve said: The chip itself works without problems and that´s imo the almost important.

Yeah, but fact is, that i currently have no more Transistors and Diodes.....and that it would be better to use a -real- PCB instead of a Bread-Board. Additionally are the i/o´s of the chip not really "secured", just give them once too much input voltage on the ports during wrong wiring and they will stay at +5 Volts.

But, no risk, no fun, eh.....

No problem, as i´ve said, it works, but i must be sure that it also works if it is connected onto another machine. So unfotunaly you´ll have to wait unless i´ll receive the Diodes and Transistors. A friend of mine will give me the machines/parts for cunsructiong a PCB.

If this gets to a successfull end, i´ll construct several other devices. I plan to program a Midi Keyboard Controller for Synths with a Keyboard Scanner inside and Synths which need CV, but not only CV for the Keyboard, for the entire Inputs of a analogue Synth. My plan is in fact to construct a box, which understands Midi, has CV-Inputs -and- CV-outputs and being capable to hold several patches inside. So you will be able to make presets for your analogue Synth or even storing Arpeggios/short Sequences for KB-CV/every other CV etcpp. But, that would be a longer Story, cause this will be overall not easy to program/build.

Sounds cool. Can you get me one for my ARP2500? the presets saving facility that is? :pwned:

Possibly :) Why not? It doesn´t matter an ARP or Roland or whatever, from where the control voltage comes from. Think even about a potentiometer of something similar. As long it is secured with enough diodes on the i/o to prevent any voltage flow back to the PSU or the potentiometer itself, one could apply any CV between -5/+5 Volts on its output pin to feed the circuit -after- it, which presupposes however, that the output voltage of the Pot is queried before, in order to compute the last-finite CV, and that regularly. As soon as a change of the output voltage of the potentiometer arises for some percent in a range of maybe +- 0.2/0.3 Volts, the appropriate output at the processor must deactivate itself, in order to prevent to damage the Synth-circuit, and note the potential gradient. As soon a "write"-button on this box is activated, it should simply write the current output voltages of all Potentiometers/switches/whatever into a I2C-Memory or something similar. However. for now it is only a idea. My JEN SX-1000 would be a great candidate for such a modification, cause it has no patch memory or something similar inside. As a extreme variant of modification i could also program something like a virtual patch field, so that -every- knob could control another one or apply -any- Processor-generated LFO-waveform or -any- Sequence to -any- of them. But that is in fact a matter of CPU-speed.
