You are missing the point...
You all see m to mean "electrical power" (the thing synths, mixing desks and JMJ CD players work on), not Nuke.
Current nuclear power breaks atoms and produces heat.
This heat makes water boil and produce steam.
Steam makes turbines rotate... and there you go, electricity.
And these turbines produce power, the electrical power.
Oil burned also produces heat... blablabla... also produces power, the electrical kind.
Wind also makes turbines rotate, also produces power, the one you want.
Water going through paddles also makes turbines rotate.. and guess what you get? Right on... electrical power.
So, nuke power is only potential power ready to be turned into kinetic one, to rotate paddles, like all (and more) the above, to produce alternate electrical current.
I'm for clean ways of producing power, cold nuclear fission (melting atoms in standart temp) is not a reality yet, nuclear cision (exploding the releasing huge amounts of explosive energy) leaves radioactive residues way to dangerous for tens of thousands of years, though few grams of cheap uranium provides way more than millions of gallons of oil, and the pluton residue can also produce even more destructive uncontrolable energy.
My opinion?
Nuke maybe safe and cheap, but soon way to much radioactive residues will start harming something or someone, unless fusion is a comercial reality quite quite soon.
