Probably not a surprise to frequent EBayers but I just found out that this is a common fraud used on EBAY by people that send spoof e-mails and steal other Ebayers identities.

Again probably not educating frequent Ebayers but things to look for are one day listings, e-mails attached to Buy It Now, and not accepting Paypal. This concludes the public service announcement.

Oh yeah, I was about to bid on one that offered bidding from $1... there was this PayPal security, and I didn't mind loosing 1 dollar... too bad the auction was closed a few hours before it finished... :mryellow:

You can always tell the hoaxes. 1/ the price is mentally far too low 2/ no reserve 3/ before you bid, the seller asks you to email them first 4/ sometimes they dont offer PAYPAL but use WESTERN UNION
