Hi,

just pay attention that even 8x8 patchbays may not allow to merge more inputs at the same time.
Roland A-880, as I said before, allows only 2 inputs merged. One input is fixed (control in) and the other may be choosed among any of the other inputs.
You can change the CONTROL IN input by holding the INPUT BUTTON while switching the A-880 on.

Midisport 8x8 allows you to merge all 8

MOTU MIDI Timepiece AV does. 8)

From their website...

I found one for 150 euro in Mortsel. It isn't exactly in my near, but he could send it by post maybe...
And on Ebay a Timepiece mkII (?) for 60 euro, with one day to go. But there's not too much description.

If you don't need it to be an USB interface you can look to the MOTU MIDI Timepiece AV SERIAL.
It's the same interface except for the USB connection replaced by the older serial connector.
You can find it in eBay quite cheap compared to the USB native version.
The front panel just differs for the three transparent little buttons on the right, in place there were black bigger buttons.

They can be linked together and you get 16 midi ports without computer.
For what I know you can link an USB and a SERIAL interface without troubles.

I'd avoid the Mark II. Look for the Serial one which looks very similar to the USB.

Well, sorry maybe I wasn't clear.

Actually the latest MIDI Timepieces that appeared on the market were the AV Series. They came out first in the Serial version and later in the USB version.
For what I know they are almost identical in features and performance.

The MKII I was referring was the one of your first link, the Midi Time Piece II, and you can notice that older MOTU models had orange printings.
I'd avoid these, I don't know much about them but they're quite old and there is little chance that you can connect them with a "modern" computer or a laptop.

If I could give you an advice (I did so) I'd search in eBay for only the words "Timepiece AV". Many people look for the word MOTU and auctions with the real name Mark of the Unicorn may be less crowded and, if you are lucky, less expensive...! :)
