It has its fair share of Acid line type sounds in the presets,and you could probably use it as a substitute,its quite a Synth and packs a large sound for such a small Quirky keyboard,it does all manner of sounds,(Probably weird and wonderful SFX its forte)and its partial to a good bass or too and or Screechy leads........Jarre used a preset on Oxygene 8,
The Proph was one of those unusual synths from Korg that seemed to be very underated,I think the initial problem was that it was Monophonic and with a Large price tag upon release was very offputting,but its one of those synths that you'll smile to yourself,knowing you have one,being Monophonic makes this synth a pleasure to play,as you approach it in a different way knowing you haven't got the ability to play chordswhich may seem odd,seeing as there are so many sounds(some string/Pad) in there that are begging to be played polyphonically,The Z1 Adressed many of the Prophecy's pitfalls,but with the Proph Its one of those synths you either love it or hate it,there is no middle ground,personally its one of my favourite synths I own(the only issue i have with it is the editing knobs on the Facia are not really practical for real time tweaking there too bulky and not easy to grip)
