I used to have the Roland D-20... a sort of D-50 with less possibilites in the Edition...but some PCM sounds were nearly the same indeed. Been good in '88, but became so frustrating from 1992/93, just like the D-50. the PCM samples could not be filtered and were sounding too "digital". The trend went back to the analog style so in 1989, Roland started commercializing the ever exciting JD-800 (but was far too expensive at the time).
