There are clearly two layers of audience noise: One with the real audience noise and another one with prerecorded cheering and sometimes clapping faded in and out very carefully (very evident e.g. after Oxygene 4 during the band presentation, ask the people who were there).
I was there about 20 meters from the stage and in my memory the people were crazy and all, but they weren`t clapping very much after a song. The clapping ended fast all the time.
But everybody cheered very much, especially when the crowd was projected onto one of the sreens. They gone mad seeing themselves on the screen.
How about the waiting time for the encores?
Two moments in wfl2-6.avi strongly indicate to me, that the audience noise is "enhanced":
1:47-1:51: a rather passive audience cheering aloud (?)
2:56-2:58: for a brief moment the audience track that I assume as being prerecorded is faded out and you hear what I believe as being the original audience noise at that moment, then the "suspected" prerecorded noise gets faded in again (end of loop? If the guy at the mixing desk just accidently would have faded a real noise out, the sound would be just gone at once.)
