I'm gonna have to wait again before I can buy a D50... I've just learnt that the tickets for the Genesis concert in Brussels are on sale tomorrow... That will make a bit more than 100 euros to spend... And then my budget is too low for the D50 :?

Yeah damnit - I wanted to go to Amsterdam to see Genesis but they were sold out in a few hours. Perhaps I could go to Brussels in stead... hmm... tempting :)

I've just seen the prices of the tickets...

Seated cat. 1 - 100 € (on the sides)
Seated cat. 2 - 80 € (on the most distant parts of the sides)
Seated cat. 3 - 65 € (on the very back)
Pitch cat. 1 - 85 € (standing on the grass close to the stage, approx 1/4 of the space)
Pitch cat. 2 - 60 € (standing on the grass behind the cat.1, left 3/4 of the space)

Mmmh... Gonna have to buy the most expensive tickets if I want to see something :?

I'm not really tall, and when I saw Phil Collins in 2004, some tall guys pushed everyone until they found some space, just before me. I couldn't see anything on stage except on the big screen :x

It does not matter Radek, it shows a lot of sounds used by JMJ and the way you play is not important. I already heard the works of Per Kristian Risvik about the D-50 and some Revolutions sounds, but this time, it is Live played and that is better IMO. Thanks for it.

However, I owned a D-550 and I sold it; Because of you, I now want another one (but the keyboard version this time) :D
But D-50 was also (and it still is) a great synthesizer, not only for Jarre sounds ... Far from it !!

I consider it regrettable that Roland did not leave yet virtual version of this mythical synthesizer, like Korg and its virtual M1 (with the Legacy digital edition) wich includes ALL the sounds from the expansion cards from this time ...

They did - it's available as VC-1 card for the VARIOS and V-Synth ;)

My apologize, I already knowed it GeeJee and I forgot to speak about it, but for somebody who is interested only by the "D-50" part, buying a Varios or a V-Synth can be a little bit ...unreasonable ? :D

The answer is for sure to buy the original one, but as a vintage synthesizer, D-50 becomes hard to find in mint condition, and what about the cards collection ??

Yeah, I get your point.

Though, D50s can be found pretty easily, and the original cards may be hard to find, but there are tons of sounds to be found on the net.

A VST of the D50 could be a nice idea, although personally I like the way Roland made it available on their synths exclusively.

Yes, 100%.

Though, there is a setting which corrects the audio output to the original setting. I think it's got something to do with bitrates or samplerates. The V-card can sound cleaner or more detailed, but you can set this back to the original output setting of the original D50.

I have never heard a better sounding software emulation of any synth before.
