This is the 'Le Key', one of the custom keyboards built by LAG in 1999?.

Was this keyboard built for JMJ to use, or was it something that LAG were messing around with ?

It was just a commercially produced remote midi keyboard.
Very rare and very expensive nowadays (€2000+)

Why didn't you buy it then :P . I like the shape of that keytar, but it is a bit too expensive for me, I think.

For that price only persons like JMJ has the money to buy it. Otherwise you'll have too much money if you have an ordinary income and buy it :)
