I don't underestand one thing... What sequencer JMJ used on Oxy 2 sequence? The sequence has 18 steps [arp sequencer had 16]

Synthi AKS I think. Tempo is also not synchronised with track.

The KS is not suitable to hold the oxy2 sequence unless modded with a higher electrolitic cap for the sequencer speed. The KS is realtime only.

For me - using a sequencer is hard. Well, at least, it's way more fun to play it by hand...

Can you transpose with AKS ? Because sequences continues with second part. We hear a few but we hear well on Houston concert, maybe pitch could be used. Don't forget that Oxygene is a "house made" album if lots of tricks.
If yes, I don't know were is the problem if Jarre runned the sequence and changed filter in realtime like Pink Floyd did with there famous track "On The Run".

Yes you can transpose the sequence by pressing one or multiple touch keys. Values are "Fifth, Third, Tone and 1/2 tone". Effectively you can pitch up 0.5, 1, 1.5, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5, 5.5, 6, 6.5, 8, 8.5, 9 and 9.5 notes.

I'm absolutely not convinced he used the AKS! For the sheer fact that with a standard KS you simply do not have enough time to record it into the buffer on the slowest speed possible. Believe me I tried.. remember it's real time not a step sequencer. Secondly the steps in the sequence are perfect 16th notes. That smells like a step sequencer.

I think the cuts you hear are there because of tape loops. He did had a lot of expierience in that field (GRM).

So I stay with my opinion 2 ARP sequencers. They are also needed for duophonic sequences... You can also transpose really easely with the ARP Sequencer to any note you want... just press another key on your 2600 keyboard

What is possible is to hook the ARP sequencer to the Synthi. You need to use the ARP 2600 Voltage controls to get the right voltage (roughly 0.33v/octave) for the Synthi. I did that several times

And besides if we throw in using tape and cutting then you can make the sequence with 1 ARP Sequencer... the only downside is the change in the filter but that could also be external as afterFX. For instance the Synthi or even the 2600...both have audio-IN.
