I´ve got the JP-8080!! Great great machine!

How did you install your 8080 ? Rackmounted? Or like a tabletop synth?

And do you find it (the way it's installed) convenient?

I don't like tabletop synths (Virus, Nordrack) cause I don't like to have to carry a table when I carry my synths. I personally find them really inconvenient.

I got mine rackmounted and it works fine with me at the moment! But soon i´m gonna rebuildt my studio, and then it will defenitely be placed in another way!

If you wanted it as a tabletop you only have to remove the rack sides...

You can actually hook up 2 Keyboards to it!!!

One on the Remote Midi socket and the Midi In socket,great if you want a dummy keyboard to play it and have a sequencer play another Part.I think this is quite a good edition,and i wish other synth manufacturers would follow suit with this idea on Rack versions,its like having two Midi ins!!!!

Vocoders good too...
Plus you have more patches to play with over the Synth

Finally I have one since this morning

I already love it

I noticed the sound Perform82 (Entropy), when you only select the lower panel, you can notice the sound is known, but in which JMJ's track...I can't remember...

I try to remake the Laser Harp sound but it is quite hard, I am not a pro to do sounds...
But the JP is excellent to learn to make sounds

You'll need a ringmodulator for that!
Not sure if it's featured on the JP8K...

There is one ringmodul in the OSC common, but there is only the button, nothing to program it
Isn't it possible ? It is on the SuperwaveP8 !

Oh yeah I think it's possible to come close, but that sound is typically Synthex! (metallic sounding DCOs, programmable ringmod, chorus)
