Given the freedom of the playing on the Tracks on Oxygene I doubt he used much if any sequencing at all on that Album only real obvious seqeunced parts are on Part 2/5(perhaps 4),there is a lot of freehand playing and given Jarre used Tape splicing on early albums he could of got round the lack of sequencers and use them in a similar way(albeit a bit more labourous)to the conventional DAW nowadays
Take the MP rhythms into account,he would not have needed to sync it to anything except maybe SMTPE on the Studers(if it has this capability and if he need to sync to other sequencers perhaps in Part 2/4????) he could just lay down the MP loops onto tape and then play the rest by hand and overdub the parts, the parts are not that difficult to play on Oxygene I often play parts in realtime when i compose into the DAW and then cut and paste in the same way you can with tape splicing back in the older days.you dont always need to sequence parts to get tempo perfect playing
Although its open to debate,I doubt he used much sequencing for Oxygene.Oxygene 6 is a fine example of it...MP Loop+loads of realtime overdubs
Equinoxe is more clinical and precise timing on the tracks compared to freehand on most of Oxygene (except for Maybe Part 1/2/8 Equinoxe)I think most of it uses sequencing..
