Speaking of Planets, I think the planet name, Tellus, for The Earth is so much more cool than plain and simply... ehm... The Earth.

VOTE AGAINST THE DECISION

We want Pluto to remain a PLANET

CAST YOUR VOTES HERE

On a lighter note, a few years ago a little boy wrote into New Scientist magazine asking why the moon didn't have a name, he said that all the other planets that had moons had names for them like Phobos and Diemos that orbit Mars, so he wanted to name our moon, guess what he wanted our moon to be called?

Eeyore

As in the donkey. I did have to laugh at that. Anyway technically our moon does have several names; Luna, Selene, (Greek "moon") daughter of Hyperion and Theia - Luna is Roman I believe.

I knew my Astronomy hobby would come in usefull one day.

I'd prefer Selene. Sounds nice, although I meet the word "Luna" more often. There is a music "Last Dance on Luna" somewhere (P. Namlook probably) and so on...

Well, as you know, some are not really names, but words for the moon in different languages. But if you insist... here's another name; “månen” (the moon). But I bet you won't be able to pronounce it. ;) :P

Btw...

I'd call the moon 'The Big Cheese'.

Though, I think I've heard that somewhere before? :?

The question I'm wondering about is what all astrology bullshit will make of this when Pluto suddenly isn't a planet any more. Does this mean that everything before was just crapp? Will it actually work now? Or is it just fake?
