Hello guys, I finally made a recreation of one of my favorite moments from "Oxygène" by the dear Jean-Michel.

It's the opening section of "Oxygène Part V", a piece I've always felt was underrated. I think Jarre wanted to express his sensitivity as a musician here. To me, it feels like a tribute to classical music, but also like an invitation to reflect rather than simply listen.

VSTs used: Arturia Synthi V, Arturia Farfisa V, Arturia ARP2600 V, NI Reaktor + Eminent-V 310 Strings Ensemble MkII Library, NI Massive, D16 Antresol, SoundToys PhaseMistress, SoundToys EchoBoy, Image-Line LuxeVerb.

Here's the result, and as always, I'd love to hear your thoughts and opinions!

That sounds pretty good. The strings sound great! The bass also. The "melody" part at 2:50 needs to be a bit more "water-y" if you know what I mean.

Regarding the "Strings", if you mean the "Pad" playing the chords at the beginning (and through the whole song), with the Electric Mistress flanger (Antresol), the sound is actually made almost entirely with the Arturia Farfisa. I only used Reaktor + the Eminent Library to slightly enrich it.

The Bass is also made with the Eminent Library, while the Bass Drone is made with the Arturia ARP 2600.

And yes, you're absolutely right about the "melody" (I call it the "Dream Lead"). I tried to recreate it with NI Massive, but it's still not quite close enough to the original. It's a very "mystical" sound, like all of the Oxygène sounds

I'm planning to make a second version, partly because, after listening to the original more carefully, I think there's not only a flanger on the main chord pad, but also a very fast phaser (Small Stone). I'd like to work on that as well and see if I can get closer to the original sound...
