I am working on a Je me souviens Cover these days. Do you have some advices or tips about sounds or sample for this track ?

I already have the first intro sample from Sound Ideas Séries 8000 scifi and some sounds from SR-JV80-04 (Medusa, strings) but if you have other ideas do not hesitate. Especially the piano sound, the background choir at the beginning, the “ha ha” that loops during all the track etc… and of course if you have any idea about the drum sample it could help a lot !!!

Curiously, the JD-800 Rimbert sound pack has two presets named "SOUVIEN PIANO", but they sound nothing like the piano from the track itself.

(Possibly an issue with the JD-800 VST, no idea if the preset sounds the same on a real JD-800)

Maybe this preset was a "fall back" solution for the 12 DOTS concert or Akropolis concert ?

I checked out the Github page of the VST preset conversion tool, and noticed this line: "you can convert original JD-800 patches to the plugin's format (as long as they don't use ROM card waveforms)", so perhaps the patch indeed could sound (more) accurate on the original hardware

Some of the one-hit drum/percussion noises are from Distorted Reality and Cuckooland Asylum and Unhinged. Incidentally, Cuckooland samples are littered over Metamorphoses and form some of the main percussion/loops on Bells.

I also heard that the stab sounds in the 'chorus' of Je Me Souviens were also from the JV80-04. And piano, I understood to be from the XP80.

I think the Stab sound you mention is the « Medusa » preset from SRJV-80-04.

I will check more in depth DR and the other cd samples !
