A spectacular show with legendary guests: RTVS will broadcast the opening concert of the Starmus festival

Jean-Michel Jarre will give a concert in Bratislava on Sunday (12 May). Queen guitarist Brian May will appear as a guest. The musical and visual performance of the French legend of electronic music will be the opening concert of the Starmus festival. Spectators can enjoy the spectacular show on the spot for free, and it will also be broadcast live by RTVS.

The event will also be accompanied by traffic restrictions on the SNP Bridge and Vienna Road. "It's one of the biggest projects in my life, even if it doesn't seem like it, I've been preparing it for 15 years. I like Bratislava very much. The concert is called Bridge from the Future. It's going to be really special," Jarre said.

"The concert space itself has certain capacity limitations, we cannot allow more than 30,000 visitors. But in cooperation with the Slovak Police and the Bratislava City Police, we have prepared backup plans and places so that all the people who come to see this great concert have a place from which they can watch and listen," added event security director Martin Královič.

I absolutely love this JMJ has a Female keyboard player on stage.

Brian has his personal Guitar. I guess those Guitars are for Adiescar and or Claude and or JMJ.

JMJ on his Electronic MIDI Flute I think Yamaha WX5, Adiescar on her Electronic Violin.

SNP Bridge will be closed in Bratislava, tens of thousands of people are waiting for Jarre and Brian May's free spectacular laser show

There will be a mass event in the capital over the weekend.

Music legends Jean-Michel Jarre and Brian May will play a show on Sunday, for which they built the highest stage in Slovakia.

The event will affect traffic in the capital already on Saturday evening. At that time they will test the lights and the technology.

I arrived in Bratislava this morning from the UK and have just been to look at the concert site and set up.

Impressive stage construction, very much like Monaco but much smaller. Tall but not very wide. The whole site is quite constrained with limited viewing opportunities but I think the grassy bank on the edge of the main road that leads over the bridge provides the best angle. It's outside the formal concert perimeter security fence but it allows a view of the stage, the UFO Bridge, the castle and the ESET HQ building onto which I understand there will be laser mapping projections.

I'm currently in accommodation in the old town north of the river but I'm heading back over the bridge tonight to watch and listen to the rehearsals.

👋 Say hello if you see me!

Still undecided whether to come today or not. On one hand I'd like to go fresh tomorrow, on another most of the tracklist is leaked anyway. Plus it's 1hr (times 2) commute for me from Vienna. Then again I'm getting a case of FOMO...

You must if you can. 1hour x2 is nearly nothing. 10 hours would be a lot.
It will be something different. Brian May, Adiescar on Violin. Lots of live playing.
A mini outdoors a first for JMJ.

Just hope there is some space somewhere for you to see what's happening. Else to hear properly the concert. Do you have a 24bit 96kHz hand held audio recorder spare batteries.

You don't want to kick yourself years afterwards.
I still kick myself for not attending JMJ's 2010 indoors concerts.

All of the above.

Jote, mate, do it!

If it were a DJ set like his recent stuff I’d say don’t bother but this actually looks quite special.
