For me, the fact that it has the DNA of Oxygene and still sounds different is what really attracts me to this new album. I'm really intrigued to hear the full album, but if 17 and 18 are anything to go by it's going to be a belter

Yes but that was 1984 and the french sound magician made something "weird" that people hardly could even relate to anything they had ever heard before.
This Part 18 is the kind of ambiente style I think feels like I've heard hundred of times before from other musicians then Jarre.
Oh well, just hope that it is just a one track thing. I really love part 17.

I must say, that with the exception of O17, the album is sounding very underwhelming.

if it's saying anything, that's the only track you'd probably heard full-length

But when I heard the trailer for Electronica 1, I thought it sounded great, and the final thing did. When I heard E2's trailer I thought it sounded average, and it was.
So as you can see I am always right

But I would love be proved wrong. In fact if O3 is as good as O7-13 I will be a very happy Man.

Yes the ambient pieces of Brian Eno, Steve Roach, Robert Rich, Harold Budd, Biosphere thousands more are interchangeable.
Anyone of them could have composed any of the thousands ambient pieces out there.

Therein is the difference with JmJ : Oxygene there was is nothing like it out there.

Excited about Oxygene 3!
However, Elf...or anyone else who may have heard the whole thing. I don't see any evidence from the excerpts or clips currently circulating that there is a high melodic "main theme" as there was in the original Oxygene, or in Oxygene 7-13. Would that surmise be correct? I would be disappointed about that, if true, because that seems like an essential thing in the "Oxygene DNA."

I think Part 17 sounds pretty melodic. Any more then that would actually surprice me.

All songs, in all genres in the past, used to be more melodic and harmonic, in general.
We're living in the age of ambient noise, where anyone can make a "masterpiece".

I like the parts I have heard, they are really nice, but Oxygene 10 followed the cue of Oxygene 4, the "first track, second side" phenomenon of all his albums up to Rendezvous at least.
