For the time being Julia's track sounds pretty annoying to me...

'The Architect' sounds very promising. I agree with earlier posters about both album being all over the place stylistically - they sound more like compilations. I'd love to hear instrumental versions of the vocal tracks. The vocal on 'As One' and 'What You Want' are properly annoying, which is a pity as JMJ was a proven songwriter long before 1976. I think he took too much of a back seat with the vocal tracks and let the collaborators with too much of a free reign IMO.
An instrumental along the lines of 'Oceans' with Gary Numan - now wouldn't that be something ?

What would have been good to hear would be how the original track went before JMJ sent it over to the collaborators to add to them? They may be a bit more 'classic Jarre' before the collaborators added or changed certain parts to fit their style perhaps??

As Jarre is not a native English speaker, it makes quite a sense the anglo-saxon people take care of the lyrics themselves...

Even if he did write lyrics for Christophe et al before he actually got famous himself, it makes perfect sense for JMJ to let the collaborators, whose music is primarily lyrical to begin with, to come up with the lyrics.

(As a corollary, aside from Revolution, Revolutions there are absolutely no JMJ tracks with memorable or special lyrics, IMO)

((Well, maybe "LIGHT MY SKY SEXY GIRL" is memorable but not really for a good reason :P))

Oh well, four days left until the album will be released... here's hoping it will actually arrive to my home on the same day instead of ~2 weeks later as with PSB's "preorder". ;)

Due to low quality samples?

Bad quality or not, I like it a lot. Can't wait to hear the whole song. :)

If you notice on reviews and Youtube comments re E1 there are about 5 songs that most people like (Vince Clarke, AVB, TD, and John Carpenter mainly...poss Moby). The rest get mainly good comments but in general everyone seems to like and dislike different tracks. Nothing on E1 has been dissed as much as the Peaches and E.S tracks on E2.
Some may say that is a strength of the project, in that everyone can pick what they like, and in general there is more to like than to dislike, or some may say that it is a weakness, in that there are too many artists with too many styles and JMJ own style is lost in the mix.

I think it's mainly the former, but I'm sure some think it's the latter.
Anyway, I glad he did this project. In my opinion it's the best thing he's done since O7-13 and far more interesting than the Aero project.

No, it's not due to quality. Which isn't "low" by the way.

Yes, I think that too. "Aero" was nice but nothing more than a greatest hits compilation with reworked versions of his most famous tracks. Ok, it have 3 new tracks but these tracks lacks of originality. I'm so far happy with the "Electronica"-project.

Greetings,

We need to listen to the whole song. When I hear 30 seconds of the collaboration with PSB I don't like it too, but I like it when I hear the whole song.

I think JMJ's command of English is superb, and he's proven to be very eloquent as well ...

Oh no guys! I try really hard to not listen to releases or songs by favorite artists before the street date. Maybe it's given the job I have, but I want to hear the album in full once it comes out. The comments on it not being as good are making me nervous!!
