Its not the end of the world guys. Atleast something good may come of it. Re-issues are better than nothing. Maybe JMJ can release this supposed new studio album with Dreyfus/BMG which can only be a good thing.

Another round of re-hashed re-issues will do more harm than good. BMG & JMJ both need to listen to what the fans want. Unfortunately, that's unlikely to happen.

I agree. If you want to sell (because this is business for JMJ and the record company he chooses) you have to study the market, and the market is us. Otherwise, it's a bit selfish and dumb to think the releases will sell just because of the artist's name (which used to be so in the past).

What the fans want? Come on, we can't even agree on this forum about what we want.

I think everyone here 100% agrees that what we want is the classic concerts released on DVD or Blue-Ray (not perse with better quality, but as 2 concerts on 1 disk).
And then the full package (ie. all tracks), not just the old VHS'es converted..

China’s Alibaba Signs Music Deal With BMG

BMG, the music rights giant that is part of Germany’s Bertelsmann, has struck a “wide-ranging distribution deal” in China with the digital entertainment arm of e-commerce giant Alibaba.

The agreement includes digital rights to over 2.5 milion copyrights, including recordings from artists Scorpions, Jean-Michel Jarre, Black Sabbath, Kylie Minogue, Boyz II Men, Smashing Pumpkins and Bryan Ferry, as well as rights in songs from Bruno Mars, John Legend, Robbie Williams, the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith and will.i.am.

BMG said that the deal would expand its artists’ earnings and help grow the legal music market in China.

Alibaba will promote BMG content through channels including its streaming apps Xiami and TTPod.

“We are delighted to join hands with BMG to develop a new business model that combines music with e-commerce in China’s entertainment sector. Our rich experience in big data analysis will help us lead innovation in the music industry that ultimately enhances customer experience,” said Patrick Liu Chunning, president of Alibaba’s Digital Entertainment business unit, in a statement.

In November BMG struck a worldwide deal with leading Chinese independent music label Giant Jump to manage its music publishing and recording rights both domestically and internationally.
