Rarities 2? There's plenty of unreleased stuff still available.

Another Rarities..? Ow yes please (along with The Sun on it ofcourse), and a new album would make it a very good year...

Also a new DVD/Blu-ray release of any concert would be nice honestly :punch:
27-11-10: Ahoy Rotterdam
22-11-16: Heineken Music Hall Amsterdam
01-07-25: Palais royal de Bruxelles/Paleizen Plein Brussel

Yeah! There must be a lot of unreleased and I would also like some more official and clean versions of the remixes, Equinoxe4 (in right speed and pitch), Rendez4, Magnetic 2 and 4. :)

I'm still suprised we have never had a nice big boxset released of Jarrities. One disc (like E&R) does not even scrape the surface of what fans want and doesn't do the artist much justice.
Jarre concerts attended - Destination Docklands 1988 - Paris La Defense 1990 - Europe In Concert 1993 (Manchester & London) - Oxygene Tour 1997 (Birmingham)

I think E&R was a tester to see what the market is for JMJ rarities. Despite the thawing of relations between JMJ and FDM, I still feel Jarre would prefer to deal with another label - one with bigger distribution.
This upcoming album has a lot riding on it, and it needs all the promo and distribution it can get. He hasn't had a bone-fide hit since Aero in 2004 (apart from T&T in France). 8 years is an age these days in the music business. Nowadays, the first weeks sales almost certainly determine the chart placing of an artist. The days of entering the chart at No. 71 and slowly rising up the chart to barely miss out on the top 10 are long gone for most - as happened in the UK chart with Equinoxe.
Despite opinion on chart placings being divisive, they are important. If you don't chart, you don't get noticed, you don't sell and you don't get record deals. Major distribution and good promo only happen with a good label behind you.
IMO a new album may be his last release via conventional means - CD - the age of the ephemeral download is here - like it or not, and any rarities would be released online only, to be played via the ubiquitous iPad etc. etc.
Concerts attended:
Destination Docklands 1988
Paris la Defense 1990
Europe in Concert - Wembley Stadium 1993
Oxygene Tour - Wembley Arena 1997
Theatre Marigny Paris 2007
Oxygene Tour - NCH Dublin 2008
2010 Tour - The 02 Dublin The 02 London (10-10-10)
Electronica Tour - 3Arena Dublin 2016

Does he mention two ALBUMS or two DISCS in the interview? It could be another 2-disc project like T&T, one surround and one regular. Or one studio album and one live album packaged together. I would be surprised if we're talking about two separate album projects.

Any other details at all in that interview?

He says in french : " Et la maintenant je vais sortir deux nouveaux albums en fait. Pas un mais deux, comme ça fesait longtemps que je n'en avais pas sortie, je vais en sortir deux d'un coups."
I understand it will be two albums with new music, but I don't know if it will be two differents albums in the year 2012 or a double album.

The quote seems to suggest JMJ was specific that there are to be two releases rather than one two disc release.

Whatever genre and styles the new album will feature, it must mark a hit album on electronic scene.

I do hope Jarre doesn't go quite overboard again like with Sessions 2000, damn that album was horrible with exception of March 23 ... And the fact that I hate Jazz doesn't help much either though :punch:

Although May 1 and December 17 tend to be very laid back sleepy tracks they are quite interesting imho and not that Jazzy.
It's kind of the opposite T&T so I guess something in between could be nice.
