Peace from the USA..
To say Jarre has been lazy, past his prime, going downhill, not been creative, repeated himself for 10 years.... that's just personal opinion and not a good analysis. My point is simply that in terms of what JMJ has done so far in the 00s, he was kinda more predictable in the 80s and 90s as we got a new album and concert every 2 years or so, always according to the expected template. Thus there is no basis for saying, for example, he is less creative now. Wether or not you, me or Joe Beercan actually likes T&T or the indoor tours is another topic, called "taste". Huge creativity does not always translate to "likes" on Facebook, if you know what I mean, which is in a nutshell what I am trying to say. JMJ can be creative without anyone liking it, but one has to recognize the creativity anyway. Maybe that's just my training speaking, but I do believe there is a difference between personal opinion and a proper analysis. Not "truth" or "right" but something else, that I dont know how to explain right now (it's 2 am in the morning).

I can take myself as an example. I went on record saying I didnt like T&T much. I rated it 4 of 10, which is very low for a JMJ album for me. In spite of that, I did appreciate its differentness and "creativity" (whatever that means) and boldness and JMJ pushing himself. Most artists dont do different albums. Similarly, if we had gotten Oxygene 14-21 it would perhaps have been perfectly aligned to my personal taste, but it would have been boring, and not shown a bold side. JMJ would have become Mike Oldfield.

Maybe it boils down to me liking Jarre because he does things I dont expect, things I have not heard before, things that are fat and rich and juicy, whereas others might like Jarre for producing what they like and he fills their cups with more of what they like. Both ways are great, just different approaches. There are surely other approaches/reasons, and combinations.

OK, rant over.

Are you going to the Monaco gig? If so, enjoy it and safe travels, man. I'll have to catch it on USTREAM.

Peace from the USA..

I have to say that one of the best concert experiences was the Marigny 2007 opening concert. Pure magic. So yes, JMJ still has it.

I like that... :D

I still agree on the people saying he has to change the tracklist for Monaco, but I'm confident because Jarre said the concert will have "surprises" for the royal couple and the team has been rehearsing a new song in Jelling they could not perform.

Edit : There will be 18 HD cameras to follow the concert (one of which will be on a plane)

Those yachts docked around the stage will have to be moved for the show, correct? Or will the owners be able to get a front row seat?
