I noticed Jarre using a STUDIO ELECTRONICS SE-1 rack synth in a online video.

Does anyone on this forum have any STUDIO ELECTRONICS synths? I've heard that they are supposed to be some of the best modern analog synths. I'd love to hear some detailed reports from users here!

They are quite good but I think the bigger models like the Omega 8 are quite overpriced for what they can do but hey, what do I know? The other monophonic ones are quite interesting once you´ve said goodbye to the idea of them sounding exactly like the originals. Their functions seem to be software-based to some extend, so you better don´t expect all too snappy envelopes, for starters. Tweaking a monophonic synth in a rack, using just one knob and some membrane switches ergonomically isn´t much fun either.
