I atleast wouldn't, the fact is more or less that the music despite sounding rather primative , the alot of the melody's still hold up pretty well :)

I don´t think it matters who made the music, but that is was made. No matter if these early attempts are from names like Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, Vangelis or the many other not so known musicians.
I think these are the first experiments of young guys just experimenting with limited possibilities. They did a pioneering work with just having fun and not with a scientific approach (like Stockhausen, Henry or Schaeffer). I like these tracks because they are the beginning of the popular electronic music which we can here today. These crazy tracks, often only noises, sounds without melody or structure are a very important time document for me which should never be forgotten.

Fair enough, that's a good point.

I bet most people want this old music to be good. They hope there's some sort of unreleased demo that all of a sudden appears to be really excellent. And while this neat little gem yet has to be found, all the other known pre-oxygene stuff is still acceptable simply because it is Jarre after all.

Most of the pre-oxygene is totally rubbish to me. 90% of LGB and Deserted Palace disgusts me. Same goes for AOR and the whole musique concrète thing. The things I DO find enjoyable are Erosmachine, the early versions of RV2 and 3, Helza, Cartolina, some of the collab. with Triangle, etc.

I'm especially interested in unreleased demos and drafts etc. Unreleased songs from the Metamorphoses era, the Vizitors, a studio version of Magnetic Fields 2 rave/techno version... etc.

Only real fans find interesting and wishful to hear music of each era of a musician. :P

Give me some credit, Ralf. I said you were entitled to your opinion, and I mine. Regarding your second comment - are you a mind reader now ?

Regarding the tracks I mentioned that I didn't like - Freedom Day etc. - if JMJ or anybody else composed them doesn't change the fact that I don't like them. There are a few post Oxygene JMJ tracks I don't like: 'Give Me A Sign' springs to mind.
Please read posts fully before you reply to them.

If you think all JMJ pre - Oxygene material is "totally crap", that's OK - don't get upset unnecessarily because others may disagree with you - many might agree with you.

The entire AOR. The madness of AOR sounds awesome. It's a shame that Jarre didn't do more things like that. Very interesting period. Reminds me of Aphex Twin in a way. Very cool, crazy, sick, underground shit.
Unreleased Oxygene and Equinoxe studio material and other tracks from these years.
Hapiness is a sad song, because i never heard it.
Music for supermarkets part 1, the best track of the album in good quality.

But we all know, that will not happen.

Calypso part 1 is easiliy available as the only decent track on Jarremix (1995).
Hapiness is a sad song is a GRM track, in the same vein as AOR.

Music for Supermarkets 5 (beginning of side B) would be great to have, since the radio presenter is talking through it. I love that track.

Thanks for the pre-Oxygene Equinoxe 5 link :)

Agreed that the previously unreleased material from Music for Supermarkets would be the best rarity to make an appearance on the forthcoming album.

As for the comment about Calypso being the only good mix on Jarremix....
Equinoxe 7 ambiant mix is brilliant in my opinion. Ok, it doesn't have the great melody, but it sure captures the atmosphere of the track, if not the whole Equinoxe album. And I still occassionally play the Revolutions and Oxygene 1 mixes from that album too.

Ok, off topic...

Unless that Oxygene 1 Laboratoire mix counts as a rarity :D
