Anyone ID this Jarre synth (2010 tour stage set-up)

The ambient track that Jarre is now playing during the 2010 tour which consists of a string peice, members have stated it is played on an Eminent. However, one video I watched lately on YouTube suggests light emiting from beneath the keyboard, something that cannot be done with a Eminent due to its solid back panel. However, one image which has turned up shows the stage and a synth on a X stand, put to one side of the stage and a likely contender for what Jarre plays for that particular peice of music.



Can anyone ID it?

At first glance, I thought it was the Mk1 V-Synth. But I'm not sure now. It either has a silver bezzeled screen or there is something sitting ontop of the keyboard.

My first though: "Are you kidding me?" but of course i don't know anything about this one. I just usually react when a keyboard has onboard speakers :punch: Anyway it looks like I'll have to make a new list of gear for this tour :D

The first react when i was listening to the piece is "that's certainly not be eminent at all, the string is sounding too...."strings", too real.

About the korg pa500, same reaction ; it's a joke ? A workstation, i guess ?

Why ??

Why this kind of gear in the middle of all this old ladies ? Just for the new piece, for a synthetic string sound ?

The Korg pa 500 is not a synth, it's a keyboard. :P

I agree with Jakob. Way back when I bought hardware I would stay well clear of those kind of "wedding keyboards". :pwned:

Most of these keyboards have sounds that are on par with top line synthesizers or derived from the same sound Processors,just cos they have "portable grandad organ"appeal doesn't mean you have to wear a cardigan or smoke a Pipe to play or use them....after all he's used a korg I4 in the past,and without it we would maybe have not had Oxygene 13?

not sure of its relevance in a setup of vintages,but hey ho Jarre felt the need to use it so??

I've said it before and I'll say it again, these instruments are great to arrange an idea on the fly.

Like Equinoxe said, he felt the need to use it. If that's what it takes to play one new song in a year time, so be it... :pwned:

One photo turned up during last years tour of Jarre on the tour bus using the PA500. I think he said at the time when the image was released that he was toying with some new music.

And i hope we know only sound matters not where sound comes. When sound is nice it its even source is cheap toy. Little offtopic b ut i dont understand people what hates General Midi,Arrangers,Digital Synths etc.
