JMJ actually had both models in his studio, and this particular model for sale, is a very rare edition of the otherwise less rare Keyboard Computer. So yes, it IS exactly the same model

Yes that's right. But I think that track is filled with the KC/HS. The main lead, actually two leads playing on each channel at the same time, one piano like another bell like.

There's also 2 bell like arps in the back ground, most likely the HS.
Combined with the Synthi "water" sfx throughout the track.
The bass could also be digital, it's got a different quality to the rest of the basses on Equinoxe.

A lot of the stuff these synths are capable of you can do today with VSTis.

But I am interested in how both the KC and the HS sound, aside from the usual Jarreisms.

The descriptions for both synths always emphasize a uniquely organic analog sound.
I'd love to hear just how much of that is mere marketing.

And the other thing is, both synths are very little known outside the Jarre community.
They aren't acknowledged as the first additive synths, nor are they mentioned anywhere - aside from the few hardcore synth sites or Jarre sites.
And so it would do them honour, to preserve them in some way, to preserve their place in history.

Like what HollowSun is doing with the Hammond Novachord, a polyphonic synth from 1939.

Isaac Hayes, especially known for the voice behind Chef from Southpark and the Shaft Theme, has used one of them. I don't remember which one.

The Keyboard Computer existed in two radically different versions. The later one, the KC-2, had organ-like stops. I used to have one for years and recorded an entire album with it, it´s quite an interesting beast. The KC wasn´t used on Oxygene, that was the Harmonic Synthesizer. There´s one thing you can take for granted, both the Harmonic and the KC do sound anything but analogue. Both have a very crude digital character to them which verges on the static but this makes the mideal for further processing. The KC even had traits of a proto-PPG about it, although less rude.

Hayes had, I think, both the KC and the HS.
