I have plans for a new computer, and I'd like to have a pc for my recording needs, but many of the people I have spoken to, recommends me to buy a Mac, and now I'm not sure what to do!

Buy an iMac, you won't regret it. I find it the best choice for music production.

1. I need 7-8 usb connectors, but how many of them for example your computer has?

2. Is your computer upgraded in someway, or is it with basic setup (4gb of ram, dual core-processor etc)

3. And the price, if you don't want to tell it, would you point the store, where you bought it?

You will need an USB hub anyway, very few desktop PCs have that many USB sockets.
Unless you buy a Mac Pro (desktop), Macs are not upgradable, afaik. Perhaps when done by an official dealer or sth like that, but I'm not sure. You can however choose your own configuration when buying one, if that's what you mean.
Macs are pricey, especially if you want them to perform properly. But man, they work so conveniently. I have mine for 3 years and I'm not thinking about replacement at all, I'm sure a Windoze PC wouldn't last for more than 3 years... hope that helps

1. It has 4 ports, but as GeeJee says, and you already found out yourself, an USB hub is the answer.

2. It's the basic setup, which is more than enough. 4GB of RAM, 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.

3. I bought it at an authorized local shop, and got it a bit cheaper, cos of Black Friday in the US, (the Apple Online store had this deal, so I asked the shopkeeper if they were able to match the price). I paid around 1.023€.

Hoping to get some pics of my new studio up soon,its now in the finishing stages,has taken me around 3 months or so from drawing to Build,Progress has been rather slow and its been mentally and physically draining not too mention frustrating(mainly by typical UK weather)undertaking this by myself has been very hard buts its finally coming together.

I Should hopefully be able to start moving in and setting up the equipment within the next two weeks,haven't so much as even touched an instrument since start of the Build Back in late September so I'm dying to get back to Recording and playing, as everything has been put on hold to undertake this,hence why I'm not in here so much these days,but now its coming together it's starting to feel worth the Blood and sweat(and tears) to have a decent Recording space,and actually being able to create a quiet and acoustically treated recording environment purpose built for Music from a blank canvas rather than trying to fit a studio in a Room in the house.

Almost finished,I have to install all the furniture and set up the gear,still a few finalising of everything to do first,as you can see in some of the pictures,I'm not sure how to place the Furniture as yet as I haven't settled on a solution and I have to install (and make the rest of my bass traps/Acoustic panels)so these need to be set in place first,will make them so they are freestanding(either fitted with legs or wheels) so I can move them around etc,As I shall make a temporary Vocal booth using some of these panels.

the Room is 16ft x 13ft x 7ft 3,the external walls are 9" thick made of two Rows of concrete blocks with a 2" Air gap between layers this decouples the exterior wall from the internal concrete layer and then interior walls are 4" studs with a 1" gap decoupling this frame from the internal concrete wall made up 4"x 2"wood studding at 2ft centres with two layers of 12.5 plasterboard inset with 100mm Rockwool slabs,which makes it considerably Quiet inside (keeping most exterior noise pollution out)total wall mass of 17" a Room within a room construction in theory,the ceiling is suspended,decoupled from the mains joists with 4" studding with 100 mm rockwool and 4 layers of 12.5mm plasterboard(this took a long time to get the combination or materials right due to the weight it needed to support and I needed to consult a Construction engineer friend for advice)

not sure of the exact STC of the building as I didn't test it prior to installing the sub frames,but its considerably enough to not be a Noise nuisance during late night sessions.

The initial Room was supposed to be larger internally but I decided it would be better to sacrifice to a smaller room with more sound isolation,the weakest link in the chain is the window,which I'm working with a local glazer to make a second internal 2" thick glass window which will fit into the sill to help with the isolation.and also create another air gap between the external window,I also have to fit a second internal door to try and make it more air tight or make some kind of bass trap panel to fit inside the door.

These pictures show the studio as it is now,(and a few of the old setup being dismantled)I have videos of the actual Exterior and interior builds so will post these later as I have to upload them from the Video camera and this takes ages(and all spare time is spent getting the studio done)

I'm still making most of the Absorbers/Panels,(made from the left over Rockwool and some Timber)I've only made 1 panel(in the pics)so far as I'm experimenting with the best design,and cosmetics to make it look pleasing to the decor,

I'm doing some room tests with a Software application and Mic to do some Frequency analysis Of the room,I have some acoustic tiles which I plan to place throughout the room,(mostly to cover the ceiling and in conjunction with a couple of absorber clouds above my head above the mix position)The Foam Tiles on the ceiling and the New carpet have taken a small amount of ring/Echo out of the room,but its still a long way off the final design,all corners will have bass trapping and the mirror points fitted with 4" absorber panels with air space and a couple of home made diffusors on the rear wall behind the mixing position,I still have a lot of the Audio equipment to put in there yet,and also a sofa,so i have to take this into consideration.


I don't need much Live Room Ambience as I don't do Live recording(other than some vocals)although I don't want a totally dead environment,I will have a small amount of Treatment in there,both home made and commercially products
Should hopefully have most of this done by the end of next week,so more pics will follow

Latest Pics update,haven't done much more(as I had to modify the Mixing desk to accomodate the Meterbridge of the 02R,And mount the PC under the Desk) but got some equipment in and did some room testing after making a further 3 more Absorbers(4 in total at the moment),cannot beleive the difference in Pan detailing having two absorbers on the Mirror Points of the side walls of the mix position,even minor adjustments are so much easier to hear,still got a long way to go yet before its finished and still need to design the Legs/Stands for the Panels to make them semi permanent

The Equipment desk has also been modified to be on castors,and all the gear on the desk can be moved with the desk without unplugging(well apart from the main socket junction box),so I can pull the desk out easily and allow the Monitors to be away from the Wall for Mixing purposes(or if I need access to the sockets etc on the rear,this was something that annoyed me in the old setup)
