Looking at your pictures I assume you're using the MD24 MIDI Decoder from Highly Liquid. I was thinking of getting one of these but how are you triggering the guiro sound? When I put a 5V pulse across it, it just gives one short click.
You are right, there is a MD24 midi kit to interface the MP7. Guiro sound require to connect the +5V before the wire connect. I again have to look the right components to connect the +5V.
Are you ok with other sound triggering ? what is your method ?
