Well for a start, D50 is completely the wrong synth to learn synthesis, imho

Why?? It's very easy to programm

I don't have the PG1000, and I'm just to lazy to dig deep into the menus and find out, I prefer tweaking. And besides, I was talking about learning synthesis. A plain subtractive synth would work much better... imho

Ah yes, the idea of a controller is a good idea, I'll try to see prices but I saw some controller more expensive than a JP8000....
JP8000's knobs can control VST ?
And what about the PG1000 ???!!!!

Don´t know, but i can say from my side that external controlling of the JP8000 itself is the hell in person (upper Midi Channel, lower midi channel, remote channel blahblahblah). In addition: The JP doesn´t sound bad, but leads are imo not it´s strenght (compared to other VA´s like my 2K). It contains inside -very- cheap potentiometers and buttons, so take care about them. Currently i´m changing out every potentiometer (including sliders) of my JP and while doing this i´ll move the entire electronics into a new housing (controlling external with a master KB).

Agreed as i found out whilst moving my rack version to get to some power cables,left it leaning against the rack housing moved a cable and it was entwined with the Midi connections of my JP of course the JP fell before i had time to react and as a result my volume control pot had been severely damaged so at the moment its a very delicate part seeing as its loose and can cause intermittment outputting if touched until i have time to repair it... Apart from that the JPs are wonderful instruments)
