I've been pretty quiet on this "global warming" hysteria up until now for fear of "offending" people, but frankly, my thoughts on the matter can be summed up in the following quotes:
- "Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please." - Mark Twain
"If you torture data sufficiently, it will confess to almost anything." - Fred Menger
And I don't recall who said this, but:
"Too many people accept too much upon the basis of too little."
Yes, I'm a global warming skeptic, I freely admit it. To my mind, one can file global warming right next to "Y2K", "killer bees", or the doomsayers who say we're on threshold of a recession, even though the economy is stronger now than 20 years ago. The climate data says nothing of itself, it must be INTERPRETED, and the interpretation depends in large measure on the proclivities of those doing the interpreting. The radical environmentalists are in the majority, so that is the opinion accepted by the masses. Take the long view, people, and don't let yourself be swept up by mass hysteria.
- "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." - Aristotle
OK, I've said my piece, I'm sorry if it may ruffle some feathers on this board, but there it is.
"The aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul."
-Johann Sebastian Bach, 1685-1750
"It Don't Mean A Thing If It Ain't Got That Swing."
-Duke Ellington, 1899-1974
