Have you ever heard a Farfisa?

It's yer most cheap sounding Hammond-wannabe, and it doesn't even come close. It's sound has nothing to do with the Oxygene album, so I doubt it was used at all?

Only thing I can imagine is the atonal organ swooshes in Oxygene 3, but then I still doubt it was used on the album at all?

Geejee, the Farfisa Professional was not aimed to be a Hammond-wannabe. It was rather aimed to be a competitor to Vox Jaguar and other combo-organs. So if you're expecting a fat Hammond you will be disappointed. You got to be fair.

Oh well. In fact I did know that, but for me there's only one pop/rock organ and that's Hammond. So everything Vox and Farfise and whatever else is out there is just not the thing forme. Me dissapointed in Farfisa? Noooo way!

I'm just happy that there are different types of organs. Especially when going on the road and being your own roadie. But also because differents sounds=different ideas.
Still, I agree with you to some extent. A Hammond in the hands of John Lord, Rick Wright or Rick van der Linden really is something. To control a Hammond you got to know one thing or two about organs in general.

If nobody would ever have considered creating a piano that would be easier to carry around, we wouldn't have Wurlies and Rhodes'. Great instruments in their own right, but nothing in comparison to a real Grand. I think it's the same with Vox' and Farfisas. I yet have to find out about their sounds, but as far as I played around with them on the Nord Stages in the shops, they sounded so pancooking awful to my ears that I didn't know how soon to turn the preset knob

I think I'm in the same dilemma as people in the 70s: they wanted to have a real grand and were being legpulled with some Electrified reeds in a box. 92% electric, 8% piano
