If I'm not mistaken the vertical lines separating the string into 4-dot groups are NOT in the original track and thus also added on purpose as well.

Those dots look like a Morse code or something.

I personally havn`t known about a group called M83 before. I have now looked at several videos on Youtube of them. I know them now, but sorry, I do not like anything. ( It could be otherwise)

So, basically which mastering versions of each album is the best?

I would guess at least half of the album is studio recorded in perfect circumstances. :P
That doesn't mean the album isn't very nice.
However the "real" live performance recorded from a Peking radio station tells me that it actually was a totally different story. Full of glitches and sloppy as heck ...
