With this album (and the last 3), I can see how much truly Jarre has become irrelevant to electronic music. Which I don't say with any joy.

This album, like the last 3 is nothing but pure noise, neither very intelligent nor emotional. Unfortunately.

It occured to me when listening to all of his recent music that it really hasn't been "tape-ified" as his 70's music was.

It's too "live", i.e. as if it's coming from the synths live to ...

I daresay, this is significantly and enchantingly better than what actually ended up being the music video.

I really enjoyed this, it has a really nostalgic, friendly feel to it. The one that actually ended up in the public is kinda fun, but obnoxious and forgetable in comparison ...

I have to wonder about that myself though. You are right that many sounds here can be had by fiddling with synths. Then again, I fiddled with synths for many years, but never produced anything like Oxy 3. However, that could just be my general ineptitude for wanting to be a Jarre, but ...
