Giving direction to creation.

At the end of Sacem Day, Cecile Rap-Veber and Jean-Michel Jarre recalled a strong conviction: creation is at the heart of issues that go far beyond the cultural sector.

New technologies, economic models, diversity of works, access to culture: every evolution in music creation engages deeply political decisions.

These debates show that innovation isn’t neutral: it transforms practices, incomes, and creators’ rights, and raises the question of what we want to protect and value.

Creators were never against progress. But one thing is clear: accessible does not mean free of charge.

In this context, the Senate vote this week, establishing a presumption of the use of works by AIs, marks an important step: regulating is setting the conditions for fair and sustainable innovation.

A conclusion that reminds us that defending copyright is defending much more than creation: it is a certain idea of culture and society.
