Electronic music pioneer Jean-Michel Jarre has announced a landmark concert at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Registan Square in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, on November 1, 2025. Throughout his career, Jarre has staged some of the most ambitious outdoor concerts of all time, from the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Eiffel Tower, to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square in Beijing, the Acropolis, the Eiffel Tower, and Masada at the Dead Sea amongst others. In 1997 he set a world record by performing to 3.5 million people in Moscow, cementing his reputation as a pioneer of large-scale cultural events.

2025 has already been a landmark year for Jarre. His European summer tour included acclaimed performances at major heritage sites from ancient amphitheatres such as the Arena Pula in Croatia and Anfiteatro Degli Scavi in Pompeii to the iconic Piazza San Marco in Venice, Plaza d’Espagna in Séville. The tour reaffirmed his ability to unite history and technology in live performance. September also saw the release of ‘Live in Bratislava’: an album and film capturing his spectacular concert at the STARMUS Festival with Brian May, staged in Bratislava, Slovakia in 2024.
