If I remember rightly, towards the end of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, one of the American scientists plays the musical motif back to the aliens on a huge synth with illuminated keys.
Also, in the Science Fare section of that article, and the six selected albums: Of these, four of them are from 1984 (Zoolook) onwards. Given Kraftwerk's last original work of any note was from 1981 (Computer World) .... Electric Café in 1986 was bang average and Tour de France Soundtracks in 2003 was a one-off, really ... we really should be grateful as JMJ fans for the constant evolution of his work and the stream of new ideas, projects and music.
Imagine being a full-on Kraftwerk fan, stuck in time, four decades ago?!
