Jean-Michel Jarre official Discord server gone

It was evidently deleted sometime either yesterday or this morning. No idea why. I wasn't active much on it but I know it did have a problem with spam bots (and moderators who didn't really know how to deal with them) so maybe that could've had something to do with it?

It always seemed to me like most of the people on the server didn't use Discord other than to use that server, as evidenced both by the amount of accounts created on the same day in April 2024 and how the server was relatively inactive despite having around 500 members. There was never much to do on it because there were hardly any channels made, and it seemed the moderators on it just didn't think it was necessary to add new channels. So maybe that could've also had something to do with it. I really don't know.

There's still an unofficial server up though (shameless self promotion)

I noticed it too this morning. It was gone from my list of Discord servers. At first I thought I was banned for some reason (don't know why though :-D), but you seem to have the same problems. Thanks for clearing that up!

Yes. It was created on the occasion of the Bratislava concert, promising "exclusive content", which - in sadly typical JMJ fashion - never materialized. It was there only because "these days we need to have a Discord server".

Huh? Which improvisations? There were none. And the transitions, well... to each his own, to me they are totally low effort. There are thousands of bedroom producers who would've done this better. And this is an electronic music legend. The bar should be much higher.
As I've gotten older I just don't have it in me to be as meticulous about making music, music related things as I was when much younger.
I find such meticulousness emotionally mentally draining nowadays.
Was easy when I was younger.

This has understandibly happened to JMJ esp as he in his 70th decade.

Also JMJ is involved in many things which take up much of his emotional mental strength, time.

JMJ could really do with a much younger meticulous musical person in his team for his albums and live shows also for giving his listeners extra things online.
You Jote would be such a person.

JMJ if you are reading this then JMJ contact Jote bring Jote onboard your team.

I'm sad that the server is gone, it wasn't as active as it used to be in the first few months, but still, it was amazing to see to many younger people found Jean-Michel Jarre's music. It was a great community and we had some really interesting discussion about Jarre and his music.

It was also nice that people came there with some many different backgrounds, older and younger fans with very different tastes, people who like 70s synth music, people who listen to 90s electronic music, from orchestral Vangelis fans to Autechre fans, a diverse group with no dominant opinion on any albums, it wasn't ruled by fans who think only his early albums are good or people who love Oxymore or those who hate Oxymore or people who support the VR and AI concepts or those who reject it.

Jarre's longevity resulted in such a uniquely diverse fanbase, it's beyond belief, I can't think of an other artist with a fanbase like the Jarre fans.

At least the older fan made server is active again, but some members are missing.
