Heart of Noise Pt1 Origin

Hello everyone,
I wonder if anyone might have any ideas to help me…
I’ve been thinking about Heart Of noise Pt1 Origin for ages, it’s not just the whole tune but for some reason that half time rhythm is just in my head all the time. I have tried and tried to come up with drum sounds that have that stretched quality, alas, they always sound like cheap time stretches..
I’m trying to find a way of creating new and interesting percussion sounds and have always found Jarre really a genius at drums and percussion sounds.. that pattern just is lodged in my head….
Any ideas out there as for the processing? So far I’ve only really tried stretching hits in pro tools and needless to say they didn’t cut the mustard!
