CHALLENGES FOR COPYRIGHT FACING NEW MODES OF CREATION AND OPERATION
Hosted by Carole Guernalec
Speakers: Cécile Rap Veber (SACEM), Jean-Michel Jarre, Michael Tordjman (composer), Maître Gilles Vercken, Hubert Tillier (SACD).
In the age of social networks, video-on-demand platforms, virtual reality and artificial intelligence, intellectual property rights are being challenged, questioned and adapted. A revolution that is accompanied by the announcement of the Ministry of Culture a few months ago forcing streaming platforms (Netflix, Disney +, Amazon Prime) to invest between 20% and 25% of their turnover in France in the production of French and European works. This context raises many questions about copyright: what protection? What responsibilities for the platforms? What remuneration for creators? What mechanisms of perception and control? And what legal peculiarity for the booming video game market?
