Hi everyone

I am about to purchase a D50 and am dying to get Thhedk's brilliant Jarre patches into it. I assume very few of them are standard presets???

How do I go about doing this?

Luckily, thhedk has been kind enough to share the .SYX file containing the patches presented in his video:

Not sure how'd you the .SYX file into a D50 memory card, but judging by a lot of sources it seems to be somewhat difficult, which is why software like the [url=http://www.d50librarian.co.uk/]D50 Librarian[/ur] exist (I guess that if your computer has a MIDI port, you can just plug the D50 into that and then manipulate the patches with the Librarian software...).

Hopefully an actual D50 expert will come in with more advice soon, even though these forums have been quite low in activity lately... :<

I try to download that SYX file and my screen just fills up with random letters/numbers???

Oh yeah, the download link does that at times. You have to right click the download link and save it that way (the menu should have a "Save Link to Location" or something like that, depending ony our browser).

I think most of the patches Jarre used were from various D50 custom memory cards, not sure if any of them are by default in the D50.

In the D50 VST, the "Grittaar 2" patch (solo keytar from Industrial Revolution suite) is one of the default instruments, but then again that's the VST made 30 years after the original synth.

[EDIT] Okay, only now did I realize that thhedk's list on the D50 page includes a list of the patch disks where he got the patches from.
