“The Connection Concert” will start with a set of light and color projected on the Lebaniego temple before the concert, and after the concert, there will still be musical and visual scraps. The title chosen for the show ‘connects’ the meaning of the Jubilee Year and the spiritual and universal sense that the show seeks. “It is about transferring to the whole world what Cantabria means to the Cantabrians.” The musician also emphasized the symbolism represented by the two levels of the audience – the people who can enjoy it live and the ones who can see it through streaming – “from a small place like this, to everyone the world”

RTVE will broadcast live the concert of Jean-Michel Jarre in the Monastery of Santo Toribio

We are very happy to announce that 'The Connection Concert' will be broadcast live on Saturday April 29th at 10:00 PM on the 2nd Spanish Television and on the RTVE website ( www.rtve.es ). This retransmission will enable the Concert can be followed live by millions of people on Saturday night.

The Minister of Innovation, Industry, Tourism and Commerce, Francisco Martín, thanked "the effort and collaboration" provided by TVE and has assured that the broadcast "supposes an important accolade to the diffusion and promotion of the concert and the Jubilee Year Lebaniego".

To carry out the retransmission, RTVE will move to the Santo Toribio Monastery the largest mobile unit in the public network, consisting of 18 high-definition cameras and a state-of-the-art satellite unit.

A team of 50 people, supported by the Territorial Center of RTVE in Cantabria, will be in charge of reaching the homes around the world the concert, which will attend 6,000 spectators in Santo Toribio.

Inspired by Liébana and Cantabria

The musician's show in Lyon is inspired by the monastery, in Liébana and in Cantabria.

The prologue to 'The Connection Concert' will begin with a play of light and color projected on the Monastery of Santo Toribio before the performance of the artist and after the concert, there will still be musical and visual scraps. A metaphor that "Santo Toribio was there before and will continue to be thereafter."

In addition, part of the music that integrates the concert will be "specific and special to the height of the place where the show will be performed".

With 'The Connection Concert', Jarre will try to convey what the Jubilee Year means, giving the show a spiritual and universal meaning.

"It is about transferring to the world what Cantabria means for Cantabria," he said, adding that in the visual part the snow, the mountains and the bear will be present, among other elements, "ecological symbols that go a lot with Cantabria."
