This term as referred to JmJ concerned me.

Surely Electronic Music is from 1920s.
Several composers utilising electronic instruments since 1920s.

Moreover surely KraftWerk, Tangerine Dream, Vangelis should be considered.

Thus how could JmJ be considered the GodFather?

Therefore I looked into it.

Leon Theremin, Adolphe Borchard, Halim El-Dabh, Pierre Schaeffer, Pierre Henry,
Bebe Baron, Daphne Oram, Delia DerbyShire, Tom Dissevelt, Stockhausen, Bernard Hermann,
Bob Moog, AR Pearlman, Don Buchla, Peter Zinovieff.

They were the Founding Fathers & Founding Mothers : the Pilgrims, the Christopher Columbus.

KraftWerk, Tangerine Dream : a Godfather is Not a collection of people.

Vangelis : a Godfather stays true to the cause throughout, never deviating, never abandoning.

A Godfather is a singular person.
True throughout.
Popularises undertakings from small beginnings.
Spreads the business.
Ensures expanding the enterprise.

Every person thereafter involved in the enterprise owes something to the Godfather's influence.

There is only one person fitting these ....

I guess untill the middle of 70s there wasn't actual electronic music but experiments with electronic noises. Kraftwerk or TD didn't say something intelligible. The rudiments only. Jean Michel did breakthrough, led it from underground, popularized electronics in masses. So I think he may be called one of the Godfathers.
