JMJ and Tangerine Dream Mega Concert

In the international music scene, the band is today highly prized: Edgar Froese plays along with Alan Parson or Brian May of Queen. He just plans with another icon of electronic music, Jean Michel Jarre, a mega concert. Edgar Froese has big plans.

That could be great. Tangerine Dream has shortened his live tracks performances, maybe it's a hint on them gathering on 4-minutes numbers along with Jarre?
Who knows?

Due to poor health, Edgar Froese not count on a joint concert with Jean Michel Jarre.

Well. Yes, I think maybe this project occurs too late in both artists' career.

Well, I recently had the chance to do an interview with Edgar (see http://www.jarrelook.de/aktuelles-detai ... ygene.html , but only in German). He indeed didn't look very good, but still seemed full of energy to look for new frontiers. He told me that there probably will be a co-operation for Jean Michel's new album.
It seems there are no concrete plans for a concert of them both yet, but he didn't deny the possibility. He said: "If you make things public, you should deliver the menu when it's cooked and not if you just have been to the street market and bought the ingredients." At the end of our talk he said to me: "Maybe we however will meet soon again for a mutual concert." So, we'll have to wait and see...

Best regards
Matthias

Well, they don't involve jarre. Surprise?

Hi Guys,

Tangerine Dream’s “Quantum Years” will start on November 16th with the opening theme from “Ricochet” played by Edgar on the greatest pipe organ in the Southern hemisphere. Location is the big Town Hall of Melbourne, Australia, a concert organized by the MELBOURNE MUSIC WEEK (MMW) in association with Goethe-Institut.

http://thatsmelbourne.com.au/mmw

The concert will last for about 2 hours and will be purely played on electronic and electrified instruments. Edgar’s colleagues on this very special event will be: THORSTEN QUAESCHNING: synthesizer, piano, pipe organ. HOSHIKO YAMANE: electric cello + violin, electric Erhu, electronic yangqin. ULRICH SCHNAUSS: synthesizer, piano.

More detailed information regarding this concert and other projects will be posted very soon.

PS: There will be a SECOND DIFFERENT concert by TD on 20 November in Melbourne, taking place in a big cinema of the city. More details soon!

Regards,
