just bought a pair of monitors for the first time. they have thier own power supply so is it ok to leave them switched on or should i switch of when not in use. they are rokits krk 8's

I'd switch them off just to save on electricity. I guess it wouldn't be too safe to leave them on most of the time.

I have active monitors and mine are on for most of the day(when i'm in the studio).

they will generate a lot of heat seeing as they have their own amplifier circuits built in,but theres nothing wrong with leaving them on,although its pointless if your not actually using them as it will prematurely wear the circuits out.

its a bit like leaving a car engine idling if you have no intention of driving it...a waste of energy.
