I don't know how much we can trust on the Rendez-Vous sleave, showing instruments used in the 6 songs.
But I have some questions, maybe you guys can help?

RV1:
How is the piano sound made ??
Seiko, nooo
Synthex, no
Roland JX 8P, ?? no?
Moog, but what Moog?
Arp 2600, Nope!
I have tried the Fairlight Pianos, and none of them sound like that piano.
I guess only a sampler or a real piano could make that sound in 1986 - could it be Emulator II, even it is not listed?

RV3:
Seiko DS320: For what?
It is one of the most simple songs, a Synthex Laser Harp, a Bas that sounds like a Synthex job, a Fairlight choir and the RMI "Drum roll"

RV4:
BTW, I always laughed a bit over Yamaha DX100 In Fourth RV, until I found out, it actually had a TalkBox feature! Could he have used this for the TalkBox like sound in RV4 ?

RV5:
The starting sound of RV5 I am sure is made on Casio CZ5000 - but is it a preset?
Emulator II: ?
Funny that the Sunthex is not listed, this is for 100% sure making the bandpass sounds in the end.

Last RV "Ron's Piece"
Fairlight: Heart and strings
Synthex: The random bas
Eminent: High strings dubbing the main strings
Seiko DS250: Why? The "rain drop" flicker sound?
Matrisequencer: ?

Maybe he did not use the standard piano presets from the fairlight. And sampled some other piano sound into his fairlight?

Theoretically yes. But he is not know for that "feature"

You didn't know ? RDV is the alternative name for the DEMO CD of Synthex, and Revolution the alternative name for the DEMO CD of D-50

I know, but both RV and Revo. are really nice albums anyway.

What Fairlight library have you tried?
Maybe you have not all sounds...
many Fairlight libraries you can find around aren't complete:
Nostalgia and Cult Sampler for example doesn't have all the sounds, Hollow Sun Vintage Sampler neither...
However you can find all CMI IIx disks online...

I think it's the IIx disk I have, the one where all the "moon machine" stuff is on.

This RDV 1 piano is very nice and interesting.

I would be interested in how it was made, too.

Could it actually be this Preset with some extra chorus and a Fairlight Choir over it?

It's very close and similar, but a little bit thin though, in the lowest notes, isn't it?

yep, basically the sound is that one.
In effect I was doubtful that RV1 piano sound was from Fairlight: I always heard a synthetic feeling in that sound.
I didn't know much about the Seiko DS-250.
Addictive synthesis... 16 harmonics faders? maybe it could be possible to replicate that sound with those VST I posted in the other thread.
