Synth hailed by musicians worldwide
It looks like a small toy, but is a powerful synth with an intuitive interface. Since its launch a year ago, it has conquered the music industry, but also attracted IT giants known for their creativity.
- We have been invited to Google, who bought several of our synthesizers. Apple's design lab in California have also bought a few, says Jesper Kouthoofd, President and Design Director at Teenage Engineering.
In an area equivalent to almost 3 dm2, the engineers at the company bundled all the circuits needed for features like drum machine and sampler, tape recorder, mixer and eight preset sound forms. There is also a built in FM radio and an accelerometer that allows you to create vibrato and other audio features by moving your synth. The design is well thought out with color coding and figures on the display that gives the right company.
The idea for the synth was Jesper Kouthoofd and his colleagues for a project in which they created a choir with 22 trädockor who sang with synthetic voices. Depending on the driving rules in force in the 1500s.
